An opening bat and leg spin bowler, who at 16 became England's youngest player when she was picked for the Third Test against New Zealand in July 1996. (In 2005 a 15 year old, Holly Colvin, became the youngest player.)
Played her first World Cup in India in December 1997, scoring a record One Day International total of 173* (2nd highest ODI score by a woman) against Ireland, the day before her 18th birthday.
During the 1997 season she scored 12 Club, Area and International centuries after a previous best of 99*.
Charlotte helped England U-21 win the 1996 European U-23 Cup and in April 1998.
Captained the U21 tour to South Africa.
In the 1999 tour by India she scored her maiden Test century in the only Test at Shenley.
She won the Vodafone Best Batting Award for the 1999/2000 Tour of Australia and New Zealand.
She played in Huntingdonshire boys team at 13 and in 1996 skippered the county's under 16 boys side.
Works for Hunts County Bats who sponsor her.
Made England captain for the tour of India in 2005 and confirmed in that post on the retirement of Clare Connor in 2006.
Missed the start of the 2007 season after an operation, but started on a high in the last matches of the Super 4s series.
